How we work

Follow each step

This page shows where information comes from, how it is organised and where you can verify it.

RESI earns attention by making its process visible. Start with the data, follow how a question becomes published content and check the organisations named as participants.

Every link below leads to a source, published answer or named organisation.

Start with named sources

RESI draws on six public data sources and identifies the source behind published figures.

The role of each source is explained on the data sources page.

See our data sources

Source names do not imply endorsement of RESI.

  • Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
  • Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA)
  • CoreLogic
  • PropTrack
  • PlanSA
  • SGS Economics & Planning

Organise, cite, publish

Practical questions are matched with relevant material, checked against the library and published with traceable sources.

  1. Step 1

    Start with real questions

The process starts with questions people are already searching for in residential construction work.

  2. Step 2

    Check the library

Existing entries are checked first, so the same question is not answered twice.

  3. Step 3

    Draft with assistance

Drafting uses automated assistance. A draft is not a published answer.

  4. Step 4

    Publish with sources

Each published answer must identify the sources used. The library is updated regularly.

136 published answers are open to read without an account.

Automated assistance does not remove the requirement to cite and verify every published figure.

See who is named

RESI names the industry organisations involved in its network.

The register records participation. It does not claim a project result unless a separate, verifiable project record is published.

See strategic partners

9 named organisations. No partnership outcome is inferred from inclusion.
